For people, the planet and for the long run
Group 2275
When we started our responsibility journey back in 2017 one thing was clear: every product shipped, every happy customer, comes at an environmental cost. We have been and remain radically honest about where we stand and how far we have to go. We take pride in sharing our wins and setbacks alike. So no, you’ll never hear us say we’re a sustainable company. But we can promise to do our absolute best and push the boundaries in creating well-designed, quality eyewear responsibly.

Our B Corp Certification

Being a B Corp since 2021 certifies what's at the heart of our responsibility journey. It means we recognize a problem, understand it and work on it — ensuring we move ourselves and our industry forward.

Responsibility Report

Our third annual report is here. The way we see it, reporting is a tool to reflect and set goals, not a way to pat ourselves on the back. Read up on our work-in-progress projects, goals, achievements, and yes, setbacks in the 2022 Report.

Where we stand

Here’s a quick update on where we stand in our responsibility journey. It’s just a glimpse of our comprehensive report, so if you’re looking for the nitty-gritty, our full 2022 report is probably more your thing.

Our Corporate Carbon Footprint
We're dedicated to minimising our environmental impact through various initiatives such as recycling our demo lenses to make a circular hard case, halting our home-try-on service, drafting science-based carbon reduction targets and partnering with Vaayu to gather more granular emissions data. In 2022, our total corporate carbon footprint (Scope 1-3) amounted to 5910.03 tonnes of CO2 equivalent.
Our Materials
Since 2022, 98% of our acetate eyewear collection is made using lower-impact materials. As one of the first, we introduced Acetate Renew Bio in 2022 — the latest more sustainable acetate innovation. We continue to look for more sustainable materials, such as using recycled acetate scrap from our factory floors.
Our Stores
We currently have 85 stores. 98% of all stores, including our HQ operate on renewable energy. With each store, we ‘work with what we got’ and find creative solutions to create responsible spaces. Take our latest Amstelveen store, where we complement wooden structures with recycled plastic panels made by our friends from Plasticiet.

Our Supply Chain
During bi-yearly meetings with the Responsibility team, all of our factory partners are monitored on social and environmental impact programs to ensure their practices meet high industry standards. This has resulted in improved transparency and visibility of our supply chain tiers.
Our Culture
We are working on creating, sustaining and nurturing an inclusive culture that represents diverse identities, which is exemplified by the kickstart of our internal DE&I strategy (and course) in 2023. We also introduced our Global Fit, a new design concept that offers more inclusivity in design by adding 39 bestsellers with nose pads for lower nose bridges.
Our Community
Our responsibility stretches beyond the boundaries of our day-to-day operations. We work to create a positive impact on communities near and far by supporting our long-term partners. Projects include restoring ecosystems with Trees For All, donating frames with All Eyes on Ghana, and volunteering at the Voedselbank.
Speak up policy
Ace and Tate is committed to conducting business based on our values, acting responsible, communicating transparently and being inclusive. We strive for a culture of openness, transparency and equality. We like to play fair.
